A technical meeting on measuring the Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) took place in Turin on 25 October 2018. The meeting was organized within the framework of the programme Building Knowledge on SDG 16 that UNICRI is implementing thanks to the support of Compagnia di San Paolo. This programme aims to enhance knowledge on the progress and challenges associated with measuring and achieving Goal 16 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Specialized training on corruption, money-laundering and asset recovery
From the 23 October to 27 October the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) organizes a specialized training on corruption, money-laundering and asset recovery at the UN Campus in Turin.
On Thursday 7 September, the Director of UNICRI, Cindy Smith, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the International Organizations, Johan van der Werff, signed the Host Country Agreement for the establishment of the first United Nations Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Identification of emerging security risks in biotechnology
On 14 July 2017, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) organized a meeting at the Palais des Nations (Geneva) within the framework of its SIRIO initiative. The meeting was attended by a select group of international experts coming from the fields of life sciences, law enforcement and supply chain security.
A delegation of the Zhejiang Police College visited UNICRI
A group of cadets from Zhejiang Police College, located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province of China, attended a presentation at UNICRI Headquarters on 8 November 2016.
The meeting represented an important opportunity to exchange expertise and illustrate the projects of UNICRI in the areas of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear risks mitigation, counter-terrorism, cyber security, crimes against the environment and hate crimes.

The promotion of knowledgeable and reliable reporting was the focus of the first United Nations specialized course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and autonomous robotics, organized in The Hague (The Netherlands) from 23 to 24 March 2016 by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the Clingendael Institute.
