On 6 May 2023, the European Union Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EU CBRN CoE) Risk Mitigation Initiative showcased its projects implemented in Central Asia during the Europe Day Festival organized by the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
On 26 and 27 January 2023, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) held a two-day workshop in Rabat to consult with Moroccan authorities in charge of preventing and combating the threats stemming from potential chemical weapons attacks conducted by violent non-state actors. The workshop was conducted within the framework of the project “ATLAS – Preventing non-state actors from planning and carrying out chemical weapons attacks through intelligence-led operations”.
On 19 January 2023, within the framework of the European Union’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence (EU CBRN CoE) Initiative, the Regional Secretariat for Central Asia held a meeting to discuss the development of the draft Chemical Safety Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was part of the technical advisory activities requested by our partner country, the Republic of Uzbekistan, to support the elaboration of this new law.

Azerbaijan’s crime areas of priority concern include drug trafficking, human trafficking and migrant smuggling, and the smuggling of counterfeit goods.
On 1 March 2021, UNICRI and Global Affairs Canada signed a multi-year agreement for the implementation of the project “CONTACT – Southeast Asia – Enhancing capacities to prevent the trafficking of radiological and nuclear (RN) material in Southeast Asia.”
